    Oliver's notes

    I made this site in 2014, having recently completed a BFA in Computation Arts at Concordia Univeristy in Montreal, Canada. In this program students learn to use code and electronics in creative ways to make generative art, immersive audio-visual environments, interactive art instalations, and other forms of New Media art. This site presents some of my works. In 2025, however, the site was not functioning properly so I decided to update it. The performance, usability, and aesthitics have been significantly improved.

This is my process :

A.Talk to the client [and actually listen to what they say] B.Discover their needs, challenges and aspirations C.Discuss the concept [with the client] to identify the core idea / message of the site D.Organise the information in a coherent way & create a basic structure E.Sketch several ideas with pen and paper F. Reproduce and play with these ideas on the computer using Figma [design sofware] G.Create a colour palette & choose some typefaces H.Coding, more coding, some more coding I. Produce version 1 of the site (v1) J. Develop new ideas based on user-feedback; create version 2 (v2) K.Check-in with the client (“what do you think?”) L.Modify sections of the site accordingly (v3) M.Fiddle with spacing, colours and font sizes [too much] N.Go for a walk, get some fresh air O.Coffee, more coffee P. Play some chess ... OK, back to work! Q.Do lots of [boring but important] technical things to make the site perform well R.Make the site responsive [to different screen sizes] S.Show the client. Hopefully they love it, otherwise repeat step L. (v4) T.Publish & share on social media U.Thank the client V.Relax, go to sleep ... Wake up, coffee! W.Network for new clients & connections X.Update my skills & culture Y.Keep in touch with clients Z.Start new project

I grew up in England (UK), but I have also lived & worked in France, Canada, and Australia I speak English and French.
